Why is a Curly cut so $$$$?
Curly hair is a beautiful and unique hair type that requires specialized care, including haircuts tailored to its natural texture. However, the cost of a curly cut can vary significantly based on factors such as salon reputation, stylist experience, and additional services offered. Let's delve into the key considerations that influence the cost of a curly cut and provide you with a better understanding of what to expect.
Stylist Expertise and Reputation:
The skill level and reputation of the salon/stylist can greatly impact the cost of a curly haircut. Highly experienced stylists who specialize in curly hair often command higher prices due to their in-depth knowledge of cutting techniques and product recommendations that cater to different curl patterns. With this knowledge the stylist will also educate the what/why/how of curls as well as send you home with a customized folder filled with tips and tricks about how to care for your curls at home.
Curl Complexity and Length:
The intricacy of your curl pattern and the length/density of your hair are also factors that influence the cost. Curly hair can come in various textures, from loose waves to tight coils, and each requires specific cutting techniques.
Additional Services:
Our salon offers extra services bundled with a curly haircut, such as deep conditioning treatments, styling, or education on curly hair care routines. These add-ons can increase the overall cost but may be worth considering for a comprehensive curly hair experience.
Consultation and Customization:
Our stylists spend extra time on consultations with clients who have curly hair. This is to understand their unique hair characteristics, discuss styling preferences, and suggest suitable cuts. While this upfront investment of time may come at a cost, it often leads to a more personalized and satisfying result.
Remember that investing in a quality curly haircut from a skilled stylist can make a significant difference in the overall health and appearance of your curls. Whether you're embracing your natural curls or trying out a new look, our stylists can help you embrace the curls you were blessed with! #rockyourblessing
Why do I have to fill out that LENGTHY Request Appt form?
The request appointment is a pre-consultation that helps us understand your curl needs as well as allows us to see your curl pattern/length and density. We do not double book our appointments and every appointment is customized according to those 3 things. This form also helps us determine which curl specialist is the best fit for you! The questions on the form also let us know what you have been using on your curls (product/color/etc) which will help us determine the health of the curls.) Once we receive this form one of our front desk associates will begin communicating with you regarding pricing and availability.
Why do I have to get a style with my cut for my first time appointment?
First time appointments take a little longer due to the initial consultation. Your curl specialist will also be analyzing the moisture content, shrink factor and overall shape of your cut. After your cut, we will not JUST style your hair. We will moisturize/hydrate your curls and utilize the best products for your curls. Proper hydration can affect the final look of the cut and a few minor adjustments/edits at the end of the service may be necessary. We also recommend styling after a big change in your cut.
Why can’t I get color on my first visit?
We do not do color on first time appointments because we need to assess the overall health of the curls before agreeing to provide any chemical service. Our overall focus is health of hair. If your curls are not healthy, it may just be a “not right now” type of circumstance…
