Growing Healthy Curls Starts Young
A child’s relationship with their curls begins early. When children learn to understand and embrace their natural texture, they’re more likely to grow up feeling confident in their hair and equipped with the knowledge to care for it throughout their lives.
At Southern Curl, our Curly Kids service is about much more than a haircut. We believe every appointment is an opportunity to build healthy habits, create confidence, and teach families how to care for curly hair at home.
During your child’s appointment, our curl specialist will provide hands-on education every step of the way. We encourage parents or guardians to be actively engaged, ask questions, and learn alongside their child. You’ll leave with a better understanding of:
- Proper cleansing and conditioning techniques
- Safe, effective detangling methods
- Product selection and application
- Styling techniques to encourage healthy, defined curls
- How to care for your child’s unique curl pattern between appointments
Every Curly Kids appointment is customized to your child’s individual curl pattern, density, lifestyle, and goals because no two heads of curls are the same.
Setting Expectations
To provide the best experience possible, children should be at least 3 years old and able to participate throughout the appointment. Curly cutting requires your child to remain reasonably still so we can safely create a shape that complements their natural curls.
Our goal is always to create a positive, supportive environment. If we feel it’s no longer safe to continue the service due to excessive movement, we may need to end the appointment. In that case, the appointment remains non-refundable.
All services are priced according to hair length and density. We do not offer children’s pricing.
